i gotta agree with southern. Most likely if this company has any smarts the meter is registered by SN. If the meter is worth over a certain amount of money it will be a felony and yes i do think the police will react if a report is made out for stolen property and the person who stoled it is identifed. As far as your claim that u are holding it because of lack of payment. Well u had better prove that your owed that money first of all. Second of all they are going to nail u for not for not following the legel system for getting paid, instead u decided to break the law and steal something. And also just like Bushmaster had said you confessed on here for taking it so if this company happens to use this website and see's your post well there goes the idea of saying "what meter".
I myself would return the meter find out why i wasnt getting paid. Resolve that issue either with the company or legally. No sense in you getting charged with a felony and no sense for u to get labeled as a thief even it u think it was justified.
