You will need evidence of the money owed you, someone said that the cops will send him to the court system and they are correct, they will not try the case then and there, the only way they will take meter from you is if he has the reciept for it and the serial# matches the item. Do you have your invoices for the work done? You need to follow this up legally and to do that you have to have your ducks in a row and prove that he owes you this money in a court of law. If you have no documents showing he owes you this money then give him the meter back and chalk it up to experience. In this industry a handshake and a man's word don't add up to spit in the river when it comes to a court of law, Always keep files on your work, just being good at your job is not good enough anymore you have got to be able to show what has been done and what has and has not been paid for. good Luck!
