Its still reliance on the government to manage your retirement for you. That's working out real swell, isn't it?
I've got a better idea. How about we keep our money and manage our retirement plans ourselves? Doubt that will ever happen as the government has laden itself with the burden of ensuring the fiscally unfit have at least a pittance to eke out a living after retiring. As far as I'm concerned, those who can't manage their finances well enough to have a healthy retirement without a government managed retirement plan ought to be happy to greet people at the WallyMart.
By the way, I just got a statement from SSA showing me information about my contribution. Seems I get more if I get disabled now than I will when I retire. Maybe I should cut off my thumb and sock away the money until I'm 67.
