I would probably say that from the dish side of things, linemen probably aren't beneficial to us dish techs. The reason is, if they do good work and build good cable plant, then we have tougher competition. Satellite had it way over cable for a long time and then the cable cos. built up their plant for all these new services like digital, HD, VOD, etc. To catch up to satellite, it took good linemen. Then again, the competitive push forces satellite to expand their HD offerings and equipment. Now I have all kinds of customers and upsell opportunities like Monster HDMI cables. In that regard, their pushing the cable technology forward helps.
Linemen though go through a lot of the same **** with companies trying to get them to work for less, non pays, etc.
Different oceans, just same sharks biting at our rafts.
