it can carry a ladder if for some reason my truck sh@#s the bucket. be honest if you had a job that couldn't be rescheduled and your truck was in the shop for some unknown this jeep has had a 28' ladder on it. for 3000 and some peace of mind i think it was a good idea i try to be ready for anything that might come up
