See, here's the thing...when a company hires a contractor to do installs, they do a background check. Any REPUTABLE company will do that. And, as such, they have to report the results of that background check to the MSO (in Comcast and TWC systems anyways) before the MSO will issue an ID. If the MSO won't issue and ID, you can't work. So, it's not the contracting company not giving you a chance (well, maybe it is), but the MSO has a say in it too.
