I shoulda kept my mouth shut....
Ok... Here's how it was brought up:
Back in about '90 I was building my first fiber run... When we got to the HE, there were a 1/2 dozen or so fibers coming in from 3 different poles... I asked the GM, who was out there watching, (It was a TCI System) why the 3 entry points..
That's when he started with the "Sonic Loop" explaination...
He said that too many fibers lashed up together created this "Sonic Loop" which resulted in some kind of interference...
He also told us that bending the fiber into a loop smaller that 12" when making storage loops was a problem.....
I never thought much of it till the other day....
Later,
SD
