I do too. With higher wages, the departments could look for more "cream of the crop" individuals to fill positions. There would be less people doing it for other reasons and fewer problems with corruption because you wouldn't want to blow a good paying gig over a few ounces of pot.
Underpaid and they deal with the scum of society.
I lived in a small town before where the cops didn't even wear armor because it just wasn't necessary. Since they weren't jaded by typical big-city vermin, they were quite nice and weren't looking to rough up everyone in site.
