my reply to this would be. In every cable system they have levels that are acceptable and unacceptable for modem signal. The norm i have seen is +10 db and -10 db. The 0 Is a mid range signal. You actually do not loose your signal at 0 It just means that the level is mid-range. I have seen modems lock at +25 db and i have seen them lock at -20 db. Its all here nor there. No meter is ever 100% correct. The headend will give you diff readings then your modem. Just try to stay between +10 and -10 and you will be fine. Its all a game with these companies. lol and usually you loose.
