I recently brought 2 back from Texas to CA. Pay the $1.75 a mile. 1st one , no problem except in AZ. Had to pay the weight fee to get across the state, $67. No red light at any other weigh station for stop or inspection. God loved us that day! 2nd one, driver stopped in NM. If over 10K#s DOT# required even though CA uses CA's#. DOT# useless here. Needed to go online, 3 hours 40 phone calls later got DOT#. Driver confused on standard time to pacific time. Log book 15 minutes over. Parked for 10 hours. Mandatory, Federal rest period between shifts. Away he goes, 20 hrs. late. Get to AZ, $67 again. Get to CA, stopped twice, weigh stations, 1st time, temp TX plate, no good in CA, $150 fine. 2nd stop, no company decals or CA#, $150 fine. $400 plane ticket to TX, $1000 to driver, $1000 in fuel, Taxi to and from El Paso, TX to San Simon, AZ, $75. 2 nights in Motel, $175. $67 weight fee in AZ. $300 in fines. $200 in incidentals, CB Radio where no phone service. $3217 total. 1962 miles @ $1.75 = $3433.50 to have it delivered with no headaches, Priceless!!! Make sure you check all states being crossed, requirements, 50 phone calls, get online and do all kinds of homework,
and a ton of fees. If not, hope and pray the stars are aligned and God Loves U!
