An old Cable dog told me onetime he was doing a reconnect and lightning struck. He had just left the tap and was walking to the house when a lightning struck the pole ran across the power drop and to the house. The customer said all devices turned on even the ones that were off. Then all the lights got bright and poof all electronics got fried. What was freaky was there was no dark clouds overhead. He told me that was the fastest he ever ran in his life.
