Re:Whatever happened to line dogs??

>You got that "keeps me in shape" thing right! I was a truck driver for 12 years when my buddy conned me into working for him in cable 1 1/2 yr ago. I lost 30 pounds the first month after I started climbing. We just finished a job that was 90% rear easement, I averaged 60 poles a day with hooks that my dad quit using before I was born. Even had to step out onto telephone strand twice to reach straight splices......Anything so I don't have to carry that miserable ladder.

>yes maam there is still a few,im from lumberton tx.15 yrs. of hooking poles.i can use a bucket
>but i prefer hooks cause it is cool and keeps me in shape
>
>>Been married to the same linedog for 18 years. Have seen alot but am now wondering if there is anyone that actually HOOKS a pole anymore?? The ol'man is now a super and can't find one single lineman that will work anything but a bucket. Just wondering if they still exist or are the old linemen extinct ?
