Hey! In his case he doesn't give a damn about how anyone views him. He has the possibility to go away for 20yrs and he will take the deal to avoid that, guilty or not. All the people that were around him testified against him to make a deal. Even if he is innocent who is there to prove these people wrong. People will send an innocent man up the river just to save their own ass. It has happened many times. His co-defendants knew that it would be more prestigious for prosecutors to prosecute him. I never understood how a person equally as guilty as another can testify against him and get a break. One of the other defendants had prior charges against him so he was happy to make a deal.
