"ATLANTA — An NAACP leader said Michael Vick should be allowed to return to the NFL, preferably the Atlanta Falcons, after serving his sentence for his role in a dogfighting operation.
"As a society, we should aid in his rehabilitation and welcome a new Michael Vick back into the community without a permanent loss of his career in football," said R.L. White, president of the group's Atlanta chapter. "We further ask the NFL, Falcons, and the sponsors not to permanently ban Mr. Vick from his ability to bring hours of enjoyment to fans all over this country."
White said the Falcons quarterback made a mistake and should be allowed to prove he has learned from that mistake."
We should aid and welcome a new Vick??? How does this man know he has changed. Has he become less cruel in the last few weeks? Why because he suddenly saw the light? HE GOT CAUGHT!!!
Bring hours of enjoyment to fans? Is this the enjoyment of a spoiled cruel man who flipped the whole stadium off on national tv?? This story got one thing right....he made a mistake. A very cruel, barbarous act of sadism with the torture of animals made to tear each other apart for the sick pleasure of others. Maybe that's what the Mr White meant when he said "hours of pleasure". And to be allowed to prove he has learned from his mistake can happen many different ways but being a roll model for people in this country and playing for the NFL so he can make millions again isn't one of them in my book. I will ask again in case some of you have seen a public apology or some event that has truly made you feel he is a changed man. I for one don't believe or for a second. Not this quick and not on his own. I would also bet I will NEVER watch a single game with him in it. He might get to play but I won't support it. He already got his second chance for the game after the finger incident.
Lets give Vick another chance?
