Chances are "that certain manager" is now working for the MSO or the prime or the company you are trying to work for. Also it depends on what level you are trying to enter at - inhouse, subcontractor, with the prime, etc.....And if your "problem" was a good one - like everybody heard about the situation - then chances are your name has been spread like wildfire and you never even knew it....
Not saying that is cool at all or even wise -- I've heard some strange stories (completely one-sided and some completely false). Some guys have had their names tarnished just because somebody got the story wrong.....
