i'd say you must be management. that's the kind of ridiculous thinking that has me jumping the heads of the "supervisors" and going to the owner of my shop when anything more than time frames need to be discussed. the answer, just like yesterday when i had to override both the qc manager and the qc field tech on a call, is always the same: you are a professional and i trust your judgement. last time my truck was cleaned was when my wife couldn't take it anymore.........slowed me down for a week. i'd gotten used to knowing which pile had a few bags of fittings underneath it, which pile of scrap to move for rockas, and ground wire, etc. as for the guy that said he'd rather spit on his work truck on his day off than clean it......i'm with you, that truck needs it's day off too. god knows it does it's part.
