You were Either in south fulton F3, The Far reaches of Douglasville or in the "hood" downtown ATL "A" hubs. F3 was the last to go digital and was a humongous area that even if you were early the way they routed contractors you drove all over. Douglasville has high taps and most guys hated it and didn't like the long drive so they didn't care. The "A" hubs were once under a contractor who hired all the techs that everyone else fired. They hardly ever QCed their people and allowed them to do whatever they wanted. Their supervisor was fired from the company that I worked for. His work was awful and was fired from three other companies also. The company was kicked out and alot of their techs blacklisted. The funniest thing I ever saw was off of whiteford st. 350ft aerial drop across the street. No Q-span anywhere. The drop was zipped tied to the Bell hard line across the street then zipped tied to the strand. The drop was inhouse cable not aerial. The constant drop in prices and drought around christmas time ran off most of their decent techs. I kept telling both Comcast and the Prime I worked for that we needed to setup a formal training program to certify techs before they went into the field. They both said that it was a great idea and nothing was done by either. I got tired of always fixing escalated calls and not getting paid fairly to fix them so I left. Now you usually see new techs who are trained by guys who don't know what they are doing.
