I certainly hope not....you're probably thinking of a hot tap. Theoretically, the signal output is supposed to be the same for each tap. That's why all of your slope, equalization , and attenuation formulas come in handy. In my experiences those eol's are typically the end result of stretching an archaic system way beyond its original design characteristics and bandwidth. Now some systems are designing a 25% return powering lode on networks older than thar hills. You've got CPD (Common Path Distortion) and soooo many things working against you...I digress
