I did QC for a while and I was the same. I also noticed the level of work got better when they knew I was spot checking and doing a little more of a comprehensive check on guys who were habitual hacks. It works both ways. And some, I said 'some', hacks will complain about the QC guy and say he is picking on them and blow out of proportion the job QC is doing. That is a guilty conscience. And I still climb, but I don't qc anymore....except myself.
