As a prime contractor, I always received my invoices 45 days out. If it was beyond this, I knew and agreed to such prior to doing the work. Some just do the work-don't communicate- then bitch about not getting paid.
As you mentioned, I've heard of such events with smaller contractors.
Now matter what: The issue is dead with Adelphia-days gone by !!
