Is it doing it when the overall temp goes up or when the motor warms only despite the temp out side.
Do you smell any kind of wierd gas fumes by the driver side of the motor while it's running.
By your post it is sounding like vapor lock or the vapor canister purge valve is shot. it runs off of the vapor canister and sits up under the intake. It won't set off the check engine light but will act like a vapor lock. A sure test is, Run the vehicle for about 10 to 20 mins, then after you shut it off, open the gas cap and if the preasure is greater than ussual there it is.
I hope this helps. The valve runs 54 bucks at auto zone. I would also check the gas cap to make sure the venting is propper.
