I think they were countin' on folks dieing before they could collect so it was okay to squander the ss monies. That monies, even if it was just accruing interest for 50 years should have brought in a decent amount. Thing is our fine gov has removed that money and used it for other "stuff"! I think i'[d like an accountability for every dime placed in those accounts and ask why, with all that dough, ss wasn't getting the "prime" rate of interest (much better than you or i get, at least better than i get! Something real fishy here. I pay more in ss than fed and state tax combined= more than i'd qualify to get back= if i live that long! Wasn't that Clintons answer? Work until you die? Later, Mike M.
