I tried explaining to a manager that the last man out rule was for employees. And you can see why; if you are there with tools in hand why not giterdone? The employer saves paying travel time and has more profits for wages and employee benefits. Right?
With contractors it has to be different. You have a list of tasks to be done for an agreed upon fee. If someone wants to engage your services for other tasks that has to accepted by both parties.
I recently saw a new one. "Contract employee." Gotta wonder what that could be. Perhaps someone who can drive their personal truck around for $30.00 per stop?
