Workmans comp is governed by the individual state and every job in every state has required it that I have worked on. The amount is what gets wierd. An individual company cannot require an amount. What would be asked for is a state's statutory limit. That very well could be 1 mill.Your insurance company would know.
When you get workman's comp ins. Watch for the end of the year audits. It can come back and bite you in the ass. HONESTY works best here. If you have employees an emplyee leasing company might be considered. Worked very well with me and they handle the IRS problems also.
>We have been working for a year now on a job that just finished. Our next hopeful job requires we have $1 million in work comp. Never had to have this before. As a company do I have to have work comp. or does it depend on the contract? Thanks for the response. (-REDACTED-)
