ya know,
For cable installs I would do it either way....barrel every inch (3 fittings) or trash the scraps...(fewer splices / leaks). Whatever their preference. It is the CATV company gear. For satellite work..cheap is best whatever that works out to be fastest. I don't know anybody that generates 1000 ft of scrap a week by themselves.
