Take from someone who has plenty of experience with Charter in Hammond, LA. $30/service call is not worth it!! This system was at one time (1997) the largest cable system by area in the world (this is from there head guy at a company meeting) and has only grown in area in the last 10 years. You will drive a lot and the customers in that area are among the worst you will ever meet for showing up at the appointed time.
To make it worse they have a policy called "Last Man Out" which requires you to change the hangers on pole and house (plus bump pole) as well as repair all other problems caused by time, bad installers, dogs and change in install procedures.
Not to mention the Hammond Charter office is one of the hardest to deal with that you will ever encounter.
Just my well earned 2 cents.
