You may want to check your facts, a lot of the cable channels are run on a fiber back bone straight from the source, the channels that to come from a SAT are received on a dish that many times better then the cheep dishes the sat companies use, and then is transmitted on a fiber back and coax backbone to the customer. as far digital channels most of the major cable companies now offer 100% digital channels including the locals as well as the cities own public channels which you will never see on a dish system. I can watch my local high school football team on a 100% digital channel thanks to my local cable company lets see a dish do that.
