I will add my 2 cents,
There is nothing wrong with the old bill.
The problem lies in the manor in which they enforce it.
If we look at it from the right angle there is a solution.
Here is mine.
When killing a snake, what is the best way to do it?
Cut off it's head. Right?
By raiding these piddly little low level laborers, all the government is doing is buying more time for these big shots to carry on.
Go after the source. It's not the coyote nor the harborer. Where do they get their money?
If they go after the source and enforce the fines and penalties, they would have the money to build the fences and supply the manpower to patrol. Think about it for a second. How many times in the past 5 years have you seen a bust on big corps for illegals?
The small guy is all you here about. why is that? The small guy got the money to do it somewhere. Treat it just the same as the big "war on drugs". It's only human nature that they will roll over.
I just don't see how our government thinks we believe that it stopped at the small guy in the chain. The revenue produced from the fines would be staggering. You put a lien on there accounts just like the Rico act. The government doesn't have a problem enforcing liens on back taxes. So why not now?
If you look at the assistance program which bleeds this country, There is a logical solution.
You get a check from our government, and you are able to work,you provide X amount of hours for work. No work no check.
I'm sure the VA could use some extra help. Or how about cleaning the Hways. I'm sure our uncle sam can think of all kinds of jobs to do. How about building the fences on the borders?
Instead of being a strain on the economy make it productive. Now I'm not saying that this only applies to illegals. There are thousands of people that get assistance and yet do nothing. Can't do manual labor, Then how about this, sit at a desk and process or do something like that. They won't be working for free and they won't be getting a free ride either. And if they do it long enough, It won't be too long before they figure out that they can get a lot further when off assistance.
I see it like this, How much pride is there when you get assistance? NONE. Most people feel embarrassed. By instilling pride back into the country on a nation wide scale at every level, you build a stronger country.
This way it's not a hand out. It's a hand up.
