it's close. if i was getting time and a half for my efforts i wouldn't have to make much more than 15 an hour if everything was included. the trade off is taxes for me at this point. my 1099 last year said about 50, that didn't include the a few months i won't elaborate on or the sidework.........but still out of that 50 i got down to 750 taxable, part of that was things like mortgage and property taxes (which are outrageous here in dallas) but a good chunk was being able to deduct damn near my whole life as a business expense. of course the trade off is that my whole life revolves around business.
