As you can see many systems use different frequencies to place their carriers. I have been many places that use 4 or 5 frequencies for upstream traffic. These places are not set up with nodes that will only feed 200 homes hence the extra carriers. Some of these places have been made to work with a 25 mhz return bandwidth. Only 5 to 30 mhz eq's. And they have some noise. But the model in the whitepaper has all of the problems one can run into on one return shot. Sometimes you will run into this. In Alaska they use qam 64 for the upstream modem traffic and 264 for the downstream video. It works fine. Normal and dedicated noise mitigation will keep levels at an acceptable level.
On a side note....thanks for the link....I found it to be most informative if not a little curious as I thought everyone already used this platform. Just goes to show how much I know.
