I've been part of a headend tech group for over 10 years. Obviously you have no idea what goes on in a headend. Equipment breaks down, and new technologies are constantly being implemented. We also arrange for routine maintenance on UPS systems, generators, HVAC systems even building repairs and pest control.
Then there are the hub sites. All of the above things and more. Equipment changes are done in a maintenance window, so night work is a normal thing.
Oh yes, we are presently building 6 new hubs from the ground up. It a rare day when we have little or nothing to do.
