I had kind of the same problem ,got the xp pro disk out, low level formatted the harddrive and loaded XP . No more Vista for me......They might have the bugs hammered out in a year or two , about the time they release their next abortion for an operating system........The best fix is orient yourself to an Apple computer they are Awesome I have had one for a while now at home, No issues with anything......outside of orientation......
