I understand the concept of retainage, i.e. Make sure "Joe" your subcontractor does not screw you over by billing for unsat work.
But what is a fair amount to retain, how long, is it fair/legal to have retainage on some subs and not others?
Work is mostly in the audit / installation / direct sales.
