do what everyone i know that doesn't pay for the better service of satellite does.......order hsd, go up the pole and take off the traps if the installer bothered to put them on in the first place. yes it blows. but you don't matter to them. when i did cable, most guys would take a box home each night, plug it in and leave it there until it got shut down (4 to 14 days) take it back, put it on the shelf, and do it again. for some reason a timed out box had to go back to the warehouse to get reauthorized.. it was the mso's own damn fault as i see it. let them pay someone to troubleshoot a box instead of giving you a discount.
