are you talking when someone says (for example) the spec is N/2 plus 2? N= number in cascade the amp is. if the amp/le is 2nd in cascade for instance it would be 2/2 (or 1) plus 2. so the Peak to Valley can be up to 3dB. (or another way to say it is starting out you can have a peak to valley of 2dB and every additional cascade can add 0.5dB to it). if the equation is N/5 plus 2 and the amp is 2nd in cascade then your peak to valley can be up to 2/5 plus 2 or 2.4 .
