Guy's trust me, splicing does pay, and 3000 is a weekly pay. Ive been on the road mapping,splicing pulling main and burying it. But if you want to stay home then installs is the ticket. Living out of a duffel bag sucks and the price the kids pay is unmeasurable.
I will say though that you need to prove your worth to your contractor and then hit him for a raise. I do 1400 a week installing. gas knocks me down to 1200 and then insurance and icidentals is another 2 bills. So a grand a week, Say all you want dogs but Im home by 5 and I sometimes get a chance to take the kids to school in the morning.
