There's nothing sinister about it and has no effect beyond not showing the picture. The password it wants is for access to the server. Your Bar password doesn't work.
I originally planned to install the Bar's new software directly after the new server and it uses a newer framework that completely changed the permission thing, so I was never that concerned about it. Fixing it right would involve new code and more trouble than it's worth at this point so I've just been periodically resetting the permissions manually. You might see the password box for a few hours after it's posted but then it will go away.
I'm sorry but if you can just bear with it for a few weeks it will all be fixed (with a completely new set of problems
) with the new software.
