The 3srv was the first version of the meeter. It used the 3st in the headend. The SDA 5000 was the next version. the 3srv will not communicate with the 5510 multi user reciver so unless you have a matching headend unit for reverse you will want the newer model. Im not sure if they will still upgrade the 3srv to a 5000 they did when the 5000 first came out.
