That man shouldn't be pressured to apologize unless they would put the same pressure on a black announcer. The only reason he can't say that is because he isn't black, and that is racist. He is being treated different than a black announcer in his position would have been.

I don't think Imus has a hatred of black people, so his slip-up is excusable. I could see them making a big to-do about this if he was saying those things because he had a hatred of black people. Al Sharpton should just call Imus up and say "hey man, don't say stuff like that, it bothers us." Then Imus can say "no problem, won't happen again." Then we can all shut the hell up and go back to watching seven hours of boobtube a day.
