Account menu --> Edit Profile. Last item is Avatar, on the right look for the button "Change". Click that it takes you to all the different avatars available. Under where it says "Select Avatar" is a drop-down list that has all the different categories. Pick one then click "Change Category" button. Keep doing that until you find one you like. Click the avatar you want then look at the bottom for the "Select Avatar" button. Click that button. I think that saves it, but you may have to submit the Edit Profile form afterwards too, not 100% sure anymore.
