his levels are out of the ordinary, for most installs, but it's not neccessarily the culprit, that would just depend on where he lives in the system and what system he's living in. but attenuating the modem wouild definitely be a good place to start trouble shooting. these are my levels as reported by the modem
Downstream

Signal to Noise Ratio: 34 dB

Upstream
Freq/Power: 33.008 MHz 38 dBmV
Channel Type: DOCSIS 1.x (TDMA)

this is a 5m/256 acount, it's a lil slower than usual, but it's also saturday afternoon the day before easter, lots of kids on dowloading and myspacing right now, not to mention gamers holed up in their little dark holes.
