I married into a family of poerlineman, 2 brothers and the father.
I have heard it all.... ladderlineman, 18' dardevil, halflineman, all of them. They are good guys just typical pwrlineman.
But they all told me if I ever needed a hand to just ask.
So one Saturday last winter I needed someone to do a trunk replacement. I asked the older Brother inlaw.
We had the trailer setup @ 7:30 am and ready to go. I asked him if he wanted to jig it out cause he had never set a lasher up and didn't want him to have to be the grunt allday. The first 7 sticks were climbers the rest we could get at with the truck.
It was a little slow going but he's a good hook and did pretty well for a first timer.
We had everything lashed up and the trailer hooked back up by 2:45. We stopped to get a coffee that he insisted on buying. When we climbed back in the truck he said " man I never would of thought when we started out that we'd get that much work done in a day".
The cable guy taunts ceased from that day forward. Not that I minded them, cause I know what it takes to do my job, and thats all that really matters.
