When I started back in 78 we had brace and bit's and no buckets.
You worked in towns that never had cable and fought your way through the tree's. You became a master with the hand line. You knew if that that last bit of lashing wire would make it 1 more span or not. You had the ability to just check the strand or cable reel to know if you could go another 750'. You cranked anchors by hand. You took pride in your work and had few if any gigis
There was a friendly Camaraderie amongst crews to see who could out produce one an other with the day's production with the losing crew buying the beer.
Plenty of experience scars of knowledge.
It's my opinion there are only exsiting Dawgs out there and there will never be new ones, only existing who are becoming a dying Breed.
