There's a checkbox on the ad form to make it free. If you miss it we'll usually catch it since orders are processed manually by a real, live human. The human is also the reason ads don't appear immediately. Any regular member with an established positive posting history (like yours, except maybe the WTF post) can just ask for a seeking work ad if they're out of work. Paid account isn't necessary.
