Re: Dish 322 receiver

Tv 2 will receive the off air if you split and combine that off air signal
before the antenna in port on your diplexer.

To split, just use a 2-way house splitter like you normally would.
One leg to the cable in port on the receiver, and the second leg to a reversed 2-way. By turning a 2-way splitter around, and using the out ports as in ports, it then works like a combiner. On the second leg of the reversed 2-way, that is where you would connect your tv 2 out. Then take the one line out of the reversed 2-way (combiner), and run it into the antenna port on the diplexer.

Note, on tv 2 you don't have to turn off the tuner to pick up those off air channels. but your tuner must be modulated to an off air channel through the receiver (21-69). The tv must be set up for off air in the tv's menu.

If the customer has cable, use the same process behind the receiver (split and combine), but set your 2nd tuner to a cable channel and change the tv's menu option to cable.

The same splitter process is familiar to those already doing it with putting the uhf antenna behind the 2nd tv. This can still be done with a three way splitter being used as the combiner instead of a two way, except that the third leg would have a lead going to the uhf antenna port on the receiver. Then behind the 2nd tv, install a two way with one leg to the tv and the uhf antenna on the second leg.

This was a little long winded, but I hope it helps.
