It's a well known fact of human nature that if one person can not attain another's level, they will do everything they can to bring them down to theirs.
How would you feel if a company hired your companies services, and the very next day started calling your installers offering them to work directly for them in a base attempt to cut you out?
After all the effort you have invested in growing your company, you have spent thousands of dollars and man hours advertising, qualifying, working with them to build a company that practically runs itself, And then some one unethical individual goes and pulls a stunt like that.

Yes, legally they can work for anyone they want.

Yes, they are free agents.
