I have not purchased on yet. I have spoke with other techs in my same company that rave avout it. Yes it is pricey but worth it. Applied Instruments makes great meters. I currently have both the sat buddy and dual buddy on my truck. You might want to consider getting the W bracket for the 1000.2 and tuning in with a DP dual.
