Re: Helmet Lamps

Hey, Doug. I've found that the LED, Krypto combos work great. Get excellent battery time out of the LED setting, and it actually is bright enough to deal with almost all situations, and when you need to read a colored print, the white light setting accomodates it. Both systems I cut on have digital phone, so any active plant has to go down at night, so I'd say at least 24 hours of my week are spent in the dark, and I leave the red LED on the whole time, and I change the batteries approximately every two weeks. I am not sure how these guys are getting 4 YEARS out of one, but that would be killer. I'd say with the weather warming up, batteries will last a bit longer too. Grab you a clamp lamp, if your basket has A/C, and you can minimize the use of your hard hat lamp. Clamp lamps are only like 6.00 at Wally World, and a 4 pack of 75 watt bulbs .99 Only problem with that is, it attracts the bugs when the weather warms up, which in your case is what, 1 month a year?
