Only one way to change things

Re: A question to all members

Not trying to be a smart a$$, but who is "forcing" you to work under their contract? I would assume you always have a take it or leave it option!

To all the field personnel in this business:

IMO, and for what it's worth, the only way to change things once negotiations fail, is to refuse to work for anyone who doesn't meet your pay and/or other work related criteria. That means making personal sacrifices, if necessary. As long as techs are willing to work for ridiculous rates, nothing will change. It takes action, not symbolic gestures, grumbling and complaining to enact change. The more techs who do this, the more effective it will be. I'm sure in many cases primes and MSO's are rolling on the floor and laughing at us for being schmucks and working at such low rates. I don't like people laughing at me. Do you?

On the other hand, if I AGREE to work for the stated prices, then I have nothing to complain about, provided there are not any hidden or unforeseen circumstances present.
