Your response helps make his point ( even though it was originally about high school and college kids ), at 24 years old you don't have a lot of experience to sell yourself with in a job interview ( whether or not you are good at what you do ). One of the problems with the people entering the job market today is that they expect top dollar from day one. In a trade such as this one, it is experience and skill that bring a top wage not a warm body.
